Bachelor
Bachelor degrees usually last either three or four years if studied full-time (although some courses are longer). You can concentrate on a single subject, combine two subjects in a single course (often called dual or joint honors courses), or choose several subjects (combined honors). Most courses have core modules which everyone studies and many courses allow you to choose options or modules to make up a course that suits you. Some bachelor degrees offer a sandwich year, involving an additional placement or year in industry, which forms part of the course.
If you’re considering higher education, you’ll need to decide what subject, course type, and course provider are right for you. Here are some tips and advice to help you. It’s important you choose a subject you enjoy and will help you reach your goals.
Entry to undergraduate programmes is suitable for students who have completed HSC, ‘A’ levels or International Baccalaureate. The International Foundation Programme would be suitable for students who have taken the Bangladeshi school curriculum.
Students should hold ONE of the following:
- HSC with a minimum GPA 3.5
- 3 A-levels including at least 1 C grade or better. A result in general studies cannot be included among the 3 on which the application is based.
- Recognized Access/Foundation course
- To have completed 12 years of education with a High School Certificate
Some course providers require additional admissions tests to be taken alongside the application, and these may have a deadline. Find out more about these tests.
Each course has different requirements you should have or be working towards in school or college – usually a mix of qualifications, subjects and/or exam grades.
As such, many applicants apply during their final year at school or college.
When you go to find courses, you’ll need to check the entry requirements so you can apply for courses you have a good chance of getting a place on.
The most common English Language requirements for international students are
- IELTS 6.0 (with minimum 5.5 in all four components).
- TOEFL paper base 550 & Internet base 80
Exceptions: Medicine

আমি সত্যিই কোন বিষয়ে আনন্দ পাই ?
এই প্রশ্নটি সর্বপ্রথম আপনাকে ভবিষ্যতের কোনও চাকরির আকাঙ্ক্ষা এবং কর্মজীবনের সম্ভাবনা থেকে আলাদাভাবে জিজ্ঞাসা করা উচিত। সর্বোপরি, আপনি যে বিষয়টিতে উচ্চশিক্ষা গ্রহণ করতে চান সে বিষয়ে সিদ্ধান্তটি সম্ভবত আপনার জীবনের বাকি অংশের উপর প্রভাব ফেলবে। সুতরাং আপনি নিশ্চিতভাবে যা কিছু পছন্দ বা উপভোগ করেন তাই উচ্চশিক্ষার জন্য বেছে নিতে পারেন।
আমার আগ্রহ কিসে?
আপনি অনেক জিনিসেই আগ্রহী? তারপর বিভিন্ন আগ্রহ একত্রিত করার চেষ্টা করুন। উদাহরণস্বরূপ, যদি আপনি বিদেশী সংস্কৃতি, ভূগোল, এবং রাজনীতিতে আগ্রহী হন তবে আপনি ‘আন্তর্জাতিক সম্পর্ক’ বিষয়টি পছন্দ করতে পারেন।
